Sometimes, it is necessary to machine the inner contour of a turned part with a single tool. This could be to minimize cycle times, due to limited tool positions, or because of special machining requirements. For conventional reworking operations, Ifanger's Swiss-MicroTurn range of MTKR pull-back copying tools are generally the perfect solution. However, for grooving applications, the MTNN tools are ideal for precise and reliable internal machining.
Thanks to their sharp edges and generous clearance angles, MTNN and MTNU grooving tools enable efficient machining. They are also particularly suitable for producing grooves with sharp angles.
Tool radii, cutting angles, clearance angles, tool neck lengths, and coatings can be adapted to specific material requirements or complex workpiece geometries upon request. If there is an increased risk of breakage, the carbide composition or coating can be modified.
