On the one hand, lead-free free-cutting steel repeatedly produces long tangled chips, which make reliable machining impossible. On the other hand, a minimum tool life of 1’300 parts is required so that production can be carried out autonomously and without interruption during the night shift.

Solution
The new 500line from Bimu offers controlled chip breaking when groove turning in steel, as well as in stainless steel grades. The required tool life is exceeded thanks to the appropriate coating and the shape of the cutting edge.
