GreMaT U320 – Compact 5-Axis Precision at the Highest Level
The GreMaT U320 is a high-performance 5-axis machining center designed for the most demanding precision manufacturing applications. Engineered for maximum accuracy, high dynamics, and process reliability, it enables the cost-effective production of complex components in a single setup.
Thanks to true simultaneous 5-axis machining, freeform surfaces, angled drilling, deep cavities, and undercuts can be machined directly. Multiple re-clamping operations are completely eliminated, resulting in significantly higher form and positional accuracy and shorter cycle times.
Maximum rigidity for consistent precision
The massive cast-iron machine bed, combined with a chevron-shaped column structure, provides the foundation for exceptional stability and high dynamic accuracy.
Hand-scraped contact surfaces between the bed and the column ensure optimal force distribution, high structural rigidity, and long-term precision.
High-load linear roller guideways combine excellent load capacity with rapid axis movements. In combination with C3-class ball screws, they deliver outstanding positioning accuracy and repeatability.
Linear scales on all linear axes (X, Y, Z) ensure a consistently stable positioning accuracy of ±5 µm, even in multi-shift operation.
High-performance 5-axis kinematics
The A/C tilting rotary table with direct drive is uncompromisingly designed for precision and smooth operation:
• A-axis with ±115° tilt range and 560 Nm nominal torque
• C-axis with continuous 360° rotation and 170 Nm nominal torque
• Positioning accuracy: ±6 arcseconds
• Repeatability: ±4 arcseconds
• Table diameter Ø 320 mm, load capacity up to 100 kg
This kinematic design enables low-vibration cutting and is ideally suited for machining aluminum, steel, titanium, and high-strength lightweight materials.
Highly dynamic spindle technology
The standard BT30 direct-drive spindle, with speeds of up to 20,000 rpm (optional 24,000 rpm) and 11 kW of power, covers a wide range of applications — from high-performance roughing to ultra-precise finishing.
Through-spindle coolant supply supports efficient deep-hole drilling and significantly extends tool life.
