Some mourn, others rejoice, those who know our solutions!
When requirements for strength, stability and durability are high, CrNiCo alloys are often preferred. The quality of these alloys is demonstrated where the limits of other materials have long been exceeded.
While the performance of CrNiCo alloys is impressive, they pose problems even for the most experienced operators. These alloys have a strong tendency to work harden and react sensitively to a poor choice of cutting parameters and tools.
However, there is no need to worry when planning such machining operations. There are suitable solutions for machining these high-performance materials safely and economically. We gathered some data & recommandation here: Machining of CrNiCo alloys
- For example, Ifanger has developed Swiss-MicroTurn MTEC CBN for bores from 2 mm diameter.
The results of customers who have adopted them are impressive. A reference? Follow the link. - Ifanger also offers a selection of its Swiss-Drill drills that are well suited for drilling these CrNiCo alloys (we have others for all kinds of applications).
We are preparing other topics. After the superalloys, we will focus our Ferbruary news on titanium ^_^
