Roland Keller under the boosters of the Artemis 2 rocket, in October 2024.
Assembly (VAB) of the SLS manned lunar rocket (Artemis 2)
At a time when the lines are no longer very clear, when geopolitical and personal aspects seem to be confusing American space policy, the conquest of the Moon (Artemis project) is being called into question in favour of the planet Mars. To defend its interests, NASA invited specialist journalists to photograph the preparations (assembly of the boosters) for the next manned lunar rocket, Artemis 2 (98 m high without its top) in the ‘garage’ (VAB) at the Kennedy Space Center. Roland Keller explains: ‘Europe has an important stake in this adventure with its service module (food, fuel, Swiss solar panel orientation system) placed underneath the Orion capsule, without which NASA would not be able to travel to the Moon’. This visit will take place on Friday 7 March 2025 at Cape Canaveral (Florida).
Launch of SpaceX Crew 10
Lift-off of SpaceX-Crew 10 (NASA/SpaceX Falcon 9-Dragon) with 4 astronauts: (two women and two men) Anne McClain (NASA), commander; Nichole Ayers (NASA), pilot; Takuya Onishi (JAXA, Japan) and Kirill Peskov (Roscosmos, Russia). The aim is to transport the crew to the International Space Station (ISS) for a period of 6 months, where they will carry out scientific research and experiments. Their arrival at the ISS will allow the other Dragon spacecraft ‘parked’ at the station to be de-bottlenecked and four crew members to be brought down.

Daytona Bike Week: 500,000 bikers on Florida's east coast
A little less spacey, but no less noisy ;o).
Daytona Beach Bike Week is a major event taking place from 28 February to 9 March 2025. The 84th annual event attracts around 500,000 bikers to Daytona Beach, Florida. ‘It's very close to Cape Canaveral, so bikers will be able to see the launch of Crew-10 from afar, and I'll also be there to report on the two-wheelers,’ concludes Roland Keller.

A little closer to the stars (and planets)...
Roland Keller, the famous Jura photojournalist, always has his head in the stars. And even more so at the beginning of March 2025!
A privileged witness to the conquest of space, it has been mobilised for two major events taking place over the next few days.
