Components, assemblies, and products are subject to the same stringent regulatory requirements as structures, processes, and methods. The central and most important standard for quality management in the automotive industry is IATF 16949. It defines globally unified requirements and was developed jointly by members of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which is comprised primarily of North American and European automotive manufacturers and motorcar associations. This ensures a constantly high level of quality throughout the entire supply chain.
