Optical Tracker - Laser scanning / Scan tracking

Mobile measurement technology for a wide area of application
Our system combines 3 applications: scanning, measuring, tracking.

Scanning and measuring
During the scanning (laser) or measuring (feeler) process the optical tracker continuously follows the position and orientation of the scanning head or feeler in real-time. While doing so, one can switch at will, via a Renishaw interface, between feeler (measuring) and laser head (scanning), without loss of zero point.

With the laser scanner any shape can completely be recorded (digitised) in a relatively short time, and against CAD a variance analysis, a numerical evaluation or a reverse engineering can be made. With the laser, even highly reflecting or black surfaces can be precisely recorded, without finishing treatment. Elements that are difficult to access or small, deep elements such as boreholes etc. can additionally, without loss of accuracy, be tactilely recorded. The laser scanner is suitable for the recording of a bone plate, an art object as well as for an entire vehicle. The area of application is almost boundless.

The system has a measuring range of 6 metre or 20 m3. In the entire measuring volume it’s possible to work with laser or feeler, as well as combined (laser and feeler). The system is excellently suited for small to medium sized components. By using targets the measuring range can be extended.

The accuracy, ascertained by the feeler, is:

  • Measuring range up to 3 metre = 20 µ
  • Measuring range up to 4.5 metre = 30 µ
  • Measuring range up to 6 metre = 60 µ
